The mission of Drama Boosters is to support Stuart theatre students AND to nurture interest and love of theatre in students of Stuart’s feeder schools. Because The Little Mermaid has such wide appeal, we are promoting this show in all of Stuart’s feeder schools:
- Bailey’s Elementary School for the Arts and Sciences
- Beechtree Elementary School
- Belvedere Elementary School
- Glen Forest Elementary School
- Park Lawn Elementary School
- Sleepy Hollow Elementary School
- Glasgow Middle School
We hope that our young audience members will be so excited by this production that they will want to get involved in theatre.
We would love to make the show’s playbill double as a directory of theatre arts training resources in the area so that parents have a handy, one-stop-shopping reference of opportunities for their kids.
We see this as a win-win-win: parents will learn about programs, vendors of all sorts will reach a new audience, and we at Stuart will receive even more students who are trained, talented, and enthusiastic about taking on higher level productions.
Last year’s musical, Guys and Dolls, drew an audience of about 1,000 from the Arlington, Annandale, Fairfax, and Falls Church areas. We expect that number to hold or go up for The Little Mermaid.
